(11:17) SANTA CRUZ- An instructor for the NorCal Junior Guard competition was stuck by a hypodermic needle at a Santa Cruz beach on Thursday. The incident took place near Lifeguard tower 2. Fire officials were notified and established protocols were then implemented. The incident is being called a rare occurrence, although three similar events were reported last month.
