(06:33) CARMEL – Carmel city officials have put a temporary ban on bonfires at Carmel Beach on weekends. The 45-day ban was approved by the city council this week in an effort to improve air quality and public safety. Bonfires on the beach will be prohibited on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays effective immediately. The ban may be extended another 10 months and 15 days when the city council revisits the policy in 45 days. (S.G.)
