(09:59) MONTEREY COUNTY – A Marina man has pleaded no contest to worker’s compensation fraud and tax evasion. Officers conducted an employer compliance check at La Sirenita Tree Service during a county-wide sweep in October. The owner of the business, 45-year-old Felipe DeJesus Olvera, was arrested on suspicion of submitting false information in order to obtain a lower worker’s compensation insurance premium. He is also accused of failing to file payroll tax returns. Olvera faces up to six yeas in prison when he is sentenced on September 15. (S.G.)
