August 22, 2016: Soberanes Fire Crosses the Carmel River

(06:30) Monterey –  The Soberanes Fire that has been burning since July 22, is now 85,212 acres and is still 60 percent contained.  The fire crossed the Carmel River and is moving towards Buckskin Flat.  Evacuation warnings have lifted for the east side of Highway 1 from Andrew Molera State Park to Coast Ridge Road at the Ventana Inn.  Firefighter Officials reported on Friday that the expected date for full containment has been moved from August 31 to September 30.
