(06:49) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a phone scam. The agency has recently been notified of a scam involving an elderly resident. The victim was contacted by a caller claiming to be her grandson. He said he was in trouble with the law in Mexico, and convinced the victim to send him $800. Anyone who receives a call of this nature is encouraged to contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. (S.G.)
