(08:36) SACRAMENTO – California lawmakers are considering two bills that address the hazards of drones flying over wildfires. SB 167 would increase fines and introduce the possibility of jail time for drone use that interferes with firefighters. SB 168 would grant immunity to any emergency responder who damages an unmanned aircraft during firefighting efforts. Both bills will be presented to the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management and the Senate Judiciary Committee in an oversight hearing on Wednesday. (S.G.)
