(14:22) SALINAS – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad has determined that the suspicious bottle found on a Salinas lawn this morning poses no threat to public safety. Police responded to reports of a suspicious device on the lawn in front of a business on the 200 block of Commission Street around 9:20 a.m. The Bomb Squad was called and they determined that it appeared to have explosive potential, but closer inspection revealed that it was not an explosive. A safety zone was established during the evaluation period and Commission street was closed for about an hour.
