(10:25) Santa Cruz – A Santa Cruz family was awarded more than $9 million after their son was killed in a crash on Highway 17 three years ago. 25 year-old Daniel McGuire was killed by a big-rig driver that didn’t have any experience behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler, and the brakes were faulty. The McGuire family is pushing for a new law in their son’s name,”Daniel’s Law”, which would require stricter safety regulations and training for all big-rig drivers across California. “Daniel’s Law” is expected to be signed by the Governor later this year.
