(17:58) SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz city crews will be performing an emergency breaching of the San Lorenzo river mouth lagoon this morning (Monday). Beginning at 7:30 a.m. Main Beach access will be restricted while workers establish a perimeter and begin lowering the lagoon water levels. The breaching has been coordinated with state and federal agencies and is an attempt to alleviate flooding around the lagoon. The process is expected to be finished Tuesday.
