(07:44) CALIFORNIA – Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation that will remove a discriminatory term from the California labor code. There are sections in the code that use the word “alien” to describe individuals who are not born or naturalized citizens in the U.S. The term is now regarded by many as derogatory. SB432, authored by Senator Tony Mendoza, will remove the term from the labor code entirely. The law will go into effect next year. (S.G.)
