(17:06) HOLLISTER – A Hollister man pleaded guilty to murdering his friend’s wife today. David Jose Quiroz faces 25 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder of 25-year-old Heather Carroll. Carroll disappeared on Oct. 10 2012 and her vehicle was found torched the morning after. When officers went to Quiroz’s mother’s house to interview him, they received a tip that he was suicidal and possibly armed. A SWAT team and several law enforcement agencies surrounded the home on Cerra Vista Drive in Hollister, and after a standoff that lasted over 10 hours, Quiroz finally surrendered and lead officers to the Carroll’s body. Quiroz will be sentenced in September.
