Shortly after being sentenced last week to 120-days in jail, a defense attorney was arrested in santa cruz for possession of methamphetamine. 46-year-old joseph Barrera is scheduled to again appear in a santa cruz county courtroom on Tuesday, to be arraigned on the drug charges. Barrera is currently suspended from practicing law in California, as he faces separate charges of professional misconduct. He was previously been convicted of cashing stolen checks and appearing in court intoxicated.
