Salinas police officers, aided by a swat team, arrested a 19-year-old wanted gang member Saturday night in connection with a shooting that took place last month. Joseph calderon is accused of attempted murder, for shooting a 21-year-old man in the parking lot of the northgate village apartment complex. The victim suffered life threatening injuries in the july 29th shooting, but is now reportedly recovering. Calderon was booked into monterey county jail on 1-million dollar’s bail. 5-other arrests were made at the apartment on Cherokee drive. that apartment had been surrounded by the swat team, however the incident ended without violence.
