What may have been an attempted burglary was thwarted by the resident in Watsonville Saturday morning. Authorities say that at about 8 a.m. a 20-year-old man was awakened when a rock broke a window at his home on the 100 block of East Front Street. The victim then saw two men running from the scene and chased after them until one of the men turned produced a handgun and fired a shot at the pursuer. The victim was uninjured. Officers arrested a 19-year-old suspect whose identity is being withheld at this time. Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to contact the Watsonville Police Department.
