Santa cruz county sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old man yesterday for allegedly threatening to assault deputies. Santa cruz resident jose romero was taken into custody after threatening 2-undercover deputies near 16th avenue and east cliff drive. romero was also found to be in possession of an 8-inch knife and heroin. He was booked into santa cruz county jail on charges including assault with a deadly weapon.
