A popular state beach was closed following a sewage spill on Saturday. Monterey County Health officials closed Asilomar State Beach at about 11:20 a.m., after being notified of a sewage spill by Pacific Grove public works crews. The beach will remain closed until bacterial levels are in compliance with health guidelines.
