A Scotts Valley man was arrested in Santa Cruz on Saturday, after allegedly making a false bomb threat. 22-year-old Christopher Childers was taken into custody after leaving a box inside a business on the 9-hundred block of Pacific Avenue. He returned shortly after, saying there were explosives in the box, and workers called the police. No bomb was discovered in the box—only some vials and a broken clock. Childers was charged with making a false bomb threat, as well as an outstanding warrant.
