A 22-year-old man was arrested over the weekend, after crashing into a police cruiser in Salinas. Vincent Silva is accused of smashing into the front of the Salinas Police car at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, at Tampico and Cabrillo Avenues. Officers report Silva tried to flee the scene, and they pursued him. He was taken into custody with the help of a resident whose backyard he tried to run through. Silva is a parolee, and faces several charges, including suspected DUI.
