A 32-year-old Mexican citizen is set to be arraigned in Santa Cruz County Superior Court today on murder charges from a 2004 stabbing. Mario Alberto Lozano allegedly stabbed 17-year-old Isaac Guzman more than 33 times on Airport Boulevard in broad daylight. Lozano was dating Guzman’s cousin at the time and there was rising tension between the two after alleged domestic violence between Lozano and Guzman’s cousin. Lozano was in Mexico when he was arrested by Mexican authorities and extradited with the help of FBi and Watsonville Police authorities.
