The arraignment hearing has been delayed for a man accused of multiple armed confrontations on Sunday. 35-year-old Joseph louie Farrell allegedly fled from authorities, and hid in a tree near capitola village for several hours. He had been wanted for brandishing a gun at 2 people in separate incidents. Farrell, (a modesto resident), had his arraignment delayed after he requested to contact a private attorney, instead of accepting a public defender. He is scheduled to return to a santa cruz county courtroom on Friday. Farrell remains in santa cruz county jail with bail set at 50-thousand dollars.
