An aromas environmental group is asking san benito county leaders to update the rules in the county governing oil and gas extraction. The group aromas cares for our environment has submitted a petition signed by more than 500-people, seeking to address the regulations for energy extraction. Graniterock company has supported the idea of updating the county’s regulations. The company was involved in a recent seismic study that explored the idea of drilling for oil, but company officials maintain that no plan is imminent. The san benito county board of supervisors is set to take up the matter September 25th.
