An armed man suspected of shoplifting was arrested yesterday in salinas. 29-year-old Christopher arguellas allegedly fired a gunshot at security guards during the incident, after the guards attempted to pursue him from the safeway on constitution boulevard. After arguellas reportedly threatened them with a knife, and fired the shot, security guards backed off so that salinas police officers could respond. Officers located arguellas nearby. He was arrested and booked into monterey county jail on several charges.
