half an acre was burned in a fire in the southwest quarter of arana gulch last night. the blaze began at about 7:40 p.m. in tall grass and bushes about a quarter-mile up from the upper harbor. firefighters extinguished the fire after about an hour. the cause of the fire is under investigation.
