An Aptos octogenarian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle last Friday. Shortly before 2 p-m an 88 year old resident went to check his mail on Freedom Boulevard near Aptos High when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver, 29 year old Joseph Granados, remained at the scene and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The victim was transported to a trauma center with major injuries.
