An Aptos math teacher was arrested today at his Santa Cruz home on allegations of sex crimes. 60-year-old Steven Jay Sande is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student. Some of the incidents allegedly occurred on the campus of Aptos Junior High School. Sande was booked into Santa Cruz County jail on multiple charges, and was released after posting 50-thousand dollars bail. The employment status of the teacher of 10-years is uncertain, the school year begins on August 23rd. School officials are launching an investigation of their own, and authorities are investigating whether there were any other victims.
