A MAN, WHO WAS INJURED WHEN 3 PIT BULLS ATTACKED HIM AS HE WALKED HIS ALASKAN MALAMUTE AT APTOS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL EARLY SATURDAY MORNING, IS LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON THE PIT BULLS. SINCE SATURDAY, HE HAS BEEN GOING TO GILROY TO GET TREATED FOR POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO RABIES, AND WHAT HE REALLLY WANTS TO KNOW IS IF THE PIT BULLS ARE UP-TO-DATE ON THEIR SHOTS. IF THEY ARE, THEN HE CAN STOP GETTING THE RABIES SHOTS. IF THEY ARE NOT, HE WILL NEED TO CONTINUE TO GET SHOTS EVERY 3-5 DAYS FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS.
THE 6:45 A.M. INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON THE TRACK AT APTOS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. CRAIG HIGGINS AND HIS WIFE SAID THEY WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THEY DO NOT BLAME THE PIT BULLS, NOR DO THEY WANT ANY HARM TO COME TO THE 3 DOGS.
THE OWNER OF THE PIT BULLS WAS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MAN IN HIS 40’S WITH A HORSESHOE MUSTACHE. HE WAS DRIVING A SILVER S.U.V. ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOGS IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT SANTA CRUZ ANIMAL SERVICES.
