Santa Cruz police arrested an Aptos man following a Friday morning car chase. At about 7 a-m, police responded to reports of a reckless driver running motorists off the roadway. Patrol units followed the suspect from Ocean Street to Glenwood Drive in Scotts Valley where his car stalled, the suspect tried to get away on a bicycle. He was arrested a few blocks away. 37 year old James Johnston was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing, hit and run and reckless evading with a vehicle.
