a local high school is hoping to take 1st place in an international robotics competition. the aptos high school robotics team placed 3rd last year at the international robotics competition in hilo, hawaii. the 11 student team earned their way to this year’s international event by placing 1st in the monterey bay regional remotely operated vehicle competition in early april. the competition pits high school engineering teams against each other, in which remotely operated vehicles must complete a series of underwater tasks.
