Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a burglary suspect in Aptos on Thursday. Deputies investigating reports of a vehicle with covered license plates responded to Mar Vista Avenue and McGregor Drive, where they located the vehicle nearby on Laverne Street. Deputies then observed Kamelia Hutchinson exit the backyard of an unoccupied residence. Hutchinson told the officers that the car belonged to her. A search of the vehicle uncovered stolen mail and items from a nearby burglary. Hutchinson was then arrested on burglary charges and booked into the county jail.
