(08:01) MONTEREY COUNTY – A Salinas man has been sentenced for operating a chop shop and evading police. In April 2015, officers attempted to pull over 26-year-old Jorge Lupina for driving without his headlights on. Lupina failed to stop and led police on a high-speed chase on Old Stage Road for nearly 5 miles before pulling over and surrendering. In January, Lupina was caught removing parts from a stolen vehicle on Bellhaven Street. He was also found in possession of shaved keys. On Thursday, Lupina was sentenced to three years in state prison. (S.G.)
