(09:00) Marina – The month of April is Distracted driving awareness month and the central coast police departments are working together to prevent crashes. The Strategic Traffic Operations and Prevention Program, also known as STOPP, is a monthly operation and is based in Marina this month. Yesterday officers saturated the streets and impounded a vehicle due to a suspended license and made an arrest for outstanding warrant. CHP officers reported that the majority of drivers that were pulled over received citations for speeding and using a cell phone while driving.
