(10:55) Monterey County – The county is requesting an extension on the Monterey County’s homeless shelter contract, which is up at the end of this month. The shelter is located on Market Street in Downtown Salinas. The shelter was always meant to be a temporary solution, and was scheduled to be knocked down in September for the railway extension project. The purpose of the project is to bring a commuter service to Salinas. The county has requested a lease extension on their dollar per month lease through June, then month to month afterward. Salinas Valley Chamber and Salinas City Center are against the lease extension. The Transportation Agency for Monterey County owns the building and will meet today to make their decision.
