(11:35) Santa Cruz – A Santa Cruz man has been arrested for statutory rape. Santa Cruz police reported that 20 year-old Shawn Michael Cox and a 14 year-old female met on social media and began a sexual relationship that lasted over two weeks. According to the reporting party, the 14-year-old victim disclosed that Cox and she had a consensual sexual relationship. As a result of extensive interviews with associates of Cox, Santa Cruz Police located an additional female juvenile victim. Detectives are continuing to follow up on the case to determine if there are additional victims.
