AN APPEAL HAS BEEN FILED FOR A GANG MEMBER WHO WAS SENTENCED TO SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE IN PRISON. 26 YEAR-OLD JULIAN ESCOBAR, WHO WAS CONVICTED OF THE FIRST DEGREE MURDER OF ANGEL ESCOBEDO, (AND THE ATTEMPTED MURDERS OF ESCOBEDO’S YOUNGER BROTHER, AND 2 OTHER FRIENDS) HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE. THE SHOOTINGS TOOK PLACE IN WATSONVILLE’S APPLE HILL NEIGHBORHOOD BACK IN MAY OF 2009.
