The public’s assistance is being sought to help identify a suspect who threw two dogs out of a car in Watsonville. Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter workers discovered an abandoned dog and her dead puppy on the side of Minot Road around 5 p.m. on Friday. It was determined that both dogs were trapped in a sandbag when they were thrown out the window. The puppy died on impact and the 6-year-old mother – who is a white and tan miniature pinscher – is currently in stable condition. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.
