2 ALISAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (WITH HELP FROM THE GROWER-SHIPPER ASSOCIATION) HAVE SUCCESSFULLY STARTED A SALAD BAR IN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA. LIZBETH MEZA AND MONSERAT LOPEZ WENT TO THE SALINAS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD LAST MAY AND GOT THE O.K. THE SALAD BAR WAS WELL RECEIVED BY STUDENTS, WHEN IT OPENED THIS WEEK. THE STUDENTS SAID IT DIDN’T MAKE SENSE THAT THEY LIVE IN THE “SALAD BOWL OF THE WORLD”, AND DIDN’T HAVE A SALAD BAR.
THIS IS THE 26TH SALAD BAR THAT THE GROWER-SHIPPER ASSOCIATION HAS HELPED FUND SINCE 2012.
