Today the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will oversee the operation of chopping up and throwing away a 52-foot yacht that sunk in the Monterey Bay last week.
The “Albatross” was towed to Seacliff State Beach earlier this week after it started breaking apart and was unable to reach its destination of Moss Landing Harbor.
The Coastguard thought they had removed all the fuel but the albatross started leaking on the beach. According to Scott Kathey (kay-thee) from a agent from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife inspected Seacliff beach and found no immediate damage from the fuel.
Problem is… nobody is claiming ownership of the Albatross but whoever the owner is… they face thousands of dollars in fines and penalties.
