A preliminary hearing has been delayed, for a salinas man who is accused of murdering his 71-year-old mother. 29-year-old Christopher sorenson was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation, after a series of outbursts in monterey county jail and at his court appearance yesterday. the hearing was delayed after sorenson’s defense attorney requested more time to study the case, because the body of the victim was found last week. Janet sorenson, known as “nene” was last seen alive on December 7th. Her body was found on a san benito county property on new year’s eve.
