An effort to prevent alcoholic beverages from being sold to minors, will be strictly enforced this holiday season. California Alcoholic Beverage Control Agents or “ABC” and local law enforcement across the state will focus on ABC licensed businesses, and large public celebration events where alcohol is sold or consumed. Enforcement includes decoy shoulder tap operations, where minors working for ABC, ask adults to purchase alcohol for them. Adults who do so will be arrested and cited. The minimum penalty for providing alcohol to a minor is a $1,000 fine and 24-hours of community service.
