A Santa Cruz man was arrested on Multiple charges Friday. Officers with the county’s gang and narcotics task forces accompanied by Homeland Security agents went to serve a search warrant on the 300 block of Ocean Street. Upon seeing police arrive Hilario “Cholo” Garcia fled the scene in a car leaving an 8 year old child behind. Garcia threw packets of heroin from the car until he was caught and taken into custody. The search of the home uncovered 6.5 ounces of heroin and led investigators to another residence on the 100 block of Felix Street where the suspect lived with his family. There agents seized $27000, three pounds of methamphetamine, and six pounds of heroin. Garcia was booked into county jail in lieu of $500000 bail.
