A former King City police officer was convicted for a gun charge on Friday. 37 year old Jaime Andrade pleaded guilty to misdemeanor improper storage of an assault weapon in a Monterey County court room as part of a plea deal to avoid a trial. The charges were filed after Andrade’s stepson was found with the weapon during a traffic stop in Salinas last July. Andrade was 1 of 6 King City Police Officers arrested in connection with a towing scheme in February of last year. He is due back in court for sentencing for Friday’s conviction April 10th.
