Four years is the goal Capitola council members have in mind to open a new larger library. The issue was brought up last night after a master plan for the eight branch-Santa Cruz Public Libraries system was presented by director Teresa Landers. Landers said Capitola is next for a new library along with Felton, and expects it to be opened by 2017. A survey held this year by Capitola voters found 91% say the library is extremely important, with 75% saying they would probably or definitely support an 84-million dollar tax measure to fund the new facility. A vote is expected to go before voters next year.
