A fire response drill is scheduled to be held this afternoon and evening in the santa cruz mountains….and during it people may get reverse 9-1-1 calls (that will be tests of the code red system for isolated areas). There will be fire equipment and firefighters testing their emergency operations. For those who do receive a test call from code red, it will be clearly stated that it is just a test and not a true emergency. No ‘live fire’ is part of this drill, so anyone seeing smoke or fire (where it shouldn’t be) is encouraged to call 9-1-1….as usual.
This drill will be cancelled should a true emergency arise that requires the resources that are part of the drill.
