THE 11-HUNDRED ACRE SARGENTS FIRE, BURNING IN SOUTH MONTEREY COUNTY, IS NOW CONSIDERED 90 PERCENT CONTAINED. THE WILDFIRE BEGAN SUNDAY NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF WUNPOST AND SARGENT CANYON ROADS. THE CAUSE OF THAT BLAZE IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED.
A 30 ACRE FIRE OUTSIDE KING CITY IS NOW 100 PERCENT CONTAINED. THE BLAZE BROKE OUT OFF METZ ROAD LAST NIGHT, LEADING TO A CLOSURE OF THAT ROAD BETWEEN BITTERWATER AND SPRECKELS ROADS. NO STRUCTURES WERE DAMAGED, AND THE CAUSE OF THIS FIRE IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED.
