A man drowned off of the main beach in Santa Cruz on Sunday. At about 6 p-m emergency personnel responded to a report of two children and a man in distress at the river mouth. A Harbor patrol boat pulled the victims and a rescue swimmer from the water. All four were transported to the hospital were the man was pronounced dead. The children and rescue swimmer were kept overnight for observation.
