Starting tomorrow morning, Santa Cruz county residents (who live in the Wildland-Urban-Interface [also known as woo-ee] area of the county) can apply for no-cost chipping, That’s to help them create 100-feet of defensible space around their homes and other structures….and along any private roads. More information can be found on the website of the Resource Conservation District Of Santa Cruz County. People interested in getting the free chipping done must first check the Conservation District’s program map, and note the region: https://chipping.rcdsantacruz.org/2021-summer-chipping-information#map. If a residence is within a brightly-colored area on the map, the property is eligible.
