It remains to be seen if the 16 year-old arrested in connection with the death of a man in Santa Cruz will be tried as a juvenile, or as an adult. The teen is accused of beating Daniel Hartley to death in January. It’s up to the judge to determine whether minors, who are 16 and 17 years old, will go through adult or juvenile proceedings. The juvenile’s hearing is currently scheduled to take place in Santa Cruz County Superior Court June 2nd.
