A Salinas man, who pleaded “No Contest” to starting 2 fires…and then evaded a law enforcement officer, has been sentenced to spend 4 years in prison. 37 year-old Celestino De La Cruz started fires on the 400 block of Old Stage Road in both September and October….burning a total of almost 22-and-a-half acres in 2019. Arson constitutes a “Strike” offense, under the California “3-Strikes Law”.
