This Thursday is the next Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission meeting, and two items on the agenda are slated to be packed with members of the public wanting to share their input.
Agenda item 25 is a report on last month’s tie vote regarding acceptance of the Transit Corridor Analysis study and how it could affect possible grant funding for future transit projects.
Agenda item 26 is a vote on modifying plans for Coastal Rail Trail Segment 12, planned for State Park Drive to Rio Del Mar Boulevard.
Modifications include adding an “interim trail option” which would involve removing the tracks along this segment and receive a railbanking order from the Surface Transportation Board as rail lines are considered federal jurisdiction.
This option is being considered due to issues with delivering the project and the need to remove the rail bridges over Highway 1 as part of the Bus on Shoulder project currently underway.
The meeting starts at 9 AM Thursday. Details about the virtual meeting, including the agenda and how to join can be found at SCCRTC.Org.
