After a delay by the Pacific Fisheries Management Council, the Commercial Salmon season kicked off in the Monterey Bay yesterday (Saturday May 1st). The delay in the season starting was designed to allow more salmon to return to rivers so they could reproduce. The salmon season is currently expected to end here in August.
